- Christine Vander Wielen, M.S.W., LCSW
- Series: Dear Rosa
We all have different ways of thinking, perceiving and viewing the world. Sometimes we can get so caught up in believing we are right that we forget about the possibility that our thinking, and perceptions could be inaccurate. This is such a common occurrence that there is even a name for it, and it is called cognitive distortions. Based on assumptions, cognitive distortions are inaccurate thoughts that reinforce negative ideas about ourselves or others.
