A habit of our mind wandering off the thing at hand from time to time is common throughout the day. Neuroscience tells us that this is a helpful thing for our brains. The default-mode network in the brain is online when your mind is wandering off-task. While attending and focusing is essential for learning and communication, day-dreaming is also vital it seems, especially for creativity.
