Go With What You Know

Sharing your faith, a life event, or something important to you fills some people with worry: worry about being accepted, respected or even understood. Keeping these events simple is a foundational principle that I often need reminding of. Even the Apostle John kept his letters to the churches simple.
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.” (John 1:1 The Message)
We ask more of ourselves than is required. It is not within our capabilities to answer every question or challenge another person may present. All that is required is what John outlined: what we have heard, seen, and touched (experienced). Sharing any part of ourselves can really be that simple.
